USDA FoodData Central
Used only when the displayed reference basis and macros reproduce the cached USDA record within normal label-rounding tolerance. A generic-equivalent record is labeled as a reference, not an exact product match.
Every food page identifies its reference amount, source fit, net-carb formula, and review date so readers can see what the numbers do—and do not—support.
Used only when the displayed reference basis and macros reproduce the cached USDA record within normal label-rounding tolerance. A generic-equivalent record is labeled as a reference, not an exact product match.
Used for a named product and serving size. Product formulas change, so the page shows the access and review date and tells readers to check the current package.
Used when no exact USDA or product-label record substantiates the display. These pages do not present their values as USDA-backed and explain the source limitation.
Source fit is recorded as exact, generic-equivalent, or proxy. Proxy data is never labeled as USDA FoodData Central data.
A page can use 100 g, 100 ml, or a labeled serving. KetoLens does not compare serving-based values as though they were 100 g values. The preparation state and source serving size appear beside the nutrition facts.
The default consumer calculation is total carbohydrate minus fiber. Product-specific records can also list sugar alcohol or allulose deductions, and the exact formula appears on the page. “Net carbs” is not an FDA-defined Nutrition Facts term. The American Diabetes Association recommends checking total carbohydrate first because fiber and sugar alcohol effects vary.
Verdicts describe general carbohydrate fit, not a guaranteed biological response. Ketosis can vary with portion, total daily intake, activity, medication, and individual tolerance.
We use USDA FoodData Central and product labels where available; entries are periodically reviewed as data changes. Each detail record stores an access date and review date. KetoLens does not claim a fixed monthly review schedule.
To request a correction, send the food name, page URL, current label or authoritative source, serving size, and the value that appears incorrect through the contact page. A correction should update the source metadata and validation checks together.
KetoLens provides general educational information, not medical advice. A clinician or registered dietitian can help interpret carbohydrate targets for individual health needs.
